A PERSONAL PIECE FOR A PERSONAL STORY: DWAYNE "THE ROCK" JOHNSON
As #artists we make sacrifices. When we feel the #creative "flow" it's hard to eat, sleep, do anything but try to perpetuate that feeling. It's then that sometimes we let it take over aspects of our lives. A couple years ago I had found some "success" in my career but what I gave up in that dedication to my craft was my #health and #well being. I was creating great #art but ate poorly, slept poorly and lived quite the sedentary #lifestyle blaming everything but myself. So eventually I realized what's the point of creating art if you can't stick around to make more. So I took matters into my own hands and wanted to not just #diet but make a full lifestyle change. It was hard at first but I sought #inspiration from others. I'm forever grateful for my family and friends for their support for eventually losing more than 50 lbs and gaining my life back thru #sport and #fitness. One of my greatest inspirations was Dwayne The Rock Johnson. I would chk his feeds all the time to stay #motivated! Cuz he was a friggin #beast and beloved for his larger than life personality that transcended just wrestling. But I think what I eventually learned more through his struggle ( yah he has a connection to #yyc as an ex stampeder but sadly a terrible experience) was that in addition to #bodybuilding, he placed #character building as an equal if not more important #priority. There is still a long journey ahead but knowing he's got our backs! I got his too! So I created this piece for him! Ive been using the #rockclock to schedule my workouts and wakeup time and this image is how I imagine him waking us up in the morning!!
